Java Modernization Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Modernization Engineer to support the transformation and modernization of legacy enterprise applications The role involves refactoring legacy Java applications to Java 15 converting existing HTTPbased applications to HTTPS and leveraging AWS modernization tools such as Amazon Transform to accelerate application upgrades improve security and enhance maintainability Experience in application modernization cloud adoption and code transformation initiatives is essential The JD aligns with modernization activities referenced in internal documentation around Java version upgrades and AWS transformation tooling.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and assess legacy Java applications for modernization opportunities
• Refactor and upgrade Java applications to Java 15 ensuring code quality compatibility and performance improvements
• Convert existing HTTPbased applications to HTTPS implementing SSLTLS security best practices
• Leverage Amazon Transform and other AWS modernization services tools to automate and accelerate application modernization
• Resolve code dependency framework and build compatibility issues during migration
• Modernize application architecture and prepare applications for cloud native deployment
• Collaborate with architects DevOps engineers security teams and business stakeholders
• Perform code reviews unit testing integration testing and deployment validation
• Document modernization strategies transformation outcomes and technical recommendations
• Support CICD integration and automated deployment processes
  
  

Qualifications

Strong experience in Java development Java 81115

Experience upgrading Java versions and refactoring legacy applications

Knowledge of Spring Boot Spring Framework REST APIs

Experience migrating applications from HTTP to HTTPS

Understanding of SSLTLS certificates encryption and application security

Experience with Maven Gradle Git Jenkins or similar DevOps tools

Familiarity with AWS services and modernization tools

Experience with code analysis dependency management and remediation
