What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scheduler position at Randolph Health?
Duties include frequent communication with physician office staff, patients, Radiologists and Diagnostic Imaging staff to schedule appropriate medical services. Incumbent will obtain pertinent medical information and use diagnostic test protocol to determine the most appropriate appointment schedule for patients and providers. Enters the request for services, patient demographic data, third -party payer and authorization information into the scheduling software. Responsible for documentation of new physician data in the Meditech system according to Information Technology standards and requirements. Refers gathered data to the Insurance Verification/Benefit staff for further processing. High School diploma or equivalent. Requires excellent verbal communication, analytical and interpersonal skills. Accurate data entry skills and above average organization skills are essential for successful performance. Medical terminology; prefer a minimum of one year in medical front office, preferably with scheduling and/or insurance functions. Prefer familiarity with ICD9 and CPT coding.
