Description
Provides for the care and feeding of shelter animals and provides custodial maintenance of the animal shelter.
Minimum Education and Experience
Graduation from high school and one year of clerical and/or animal shelter experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Special Comments
- Maintains feeding schedules for all sheltered animals by providing appropriate food and water at appointed times.
- Maintains cleanliness of shelter by washing and disinfecting the kennels and cat cages on a daily basis.
- Provides supplemental waste removal during the day to keep kennels clean and odor free.
- Brings animals scheduled for euthanasia to the euthanasia room and assists by restraining the animal for the technician.
- Assists in the incoming animal process by gathering information from the owner and entering into computer.
- Assists with the adoption process by showing animals to the public.
- Performs related work as required.
