Overview:

We are seeking 1 to 2 compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team. One to provide support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and another to provide support to children who have been victim or witness of violent crimes. This role requires a deep understanding of trauma-informed care and creating a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore their experiences and work toward healing and empowerment.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' emotional, psychological, and social needs, with a particular focus on trauma symptoms related to domestic violence and sexual assault.

- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based interventions.

- Provide trauma-informed counseling and psychotherapy to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, addressing issues such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.

- Offer crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute distress or safety concerns, including coordinating referrals to emergency services and community resources as needed.

- Facilitate support groups and workshops for survivors to connect with others, share experiences, and learn coping skills and strategies for healing.

- Collaborate with other professionals and community organizations involved in the care of survivors, including legal advocates, medical providers, and social service agencies, to ensure comprehensive support and coordinated services.

- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, and treatment documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.

- Stay abreast of developments in the fields of trauma, domestic violence, and sexual assault through ongoing education, training, and professional development activities.

Qualifications:

- Master's in clinical social work, Clinical mental health counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.

- Current state licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

- Specialized training and experience in trauma-focused therapy modalities, particularly those relevant to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

- Sensitivity to issues of diversity, equity, and cultural competence, with the ability to provide culturally responsive care to clients from diverse backgrounds.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trusting therapeutic relationships with clients in a compassionate and nonjudgmental manner.

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and engage with community partners.

- Commitment to self-care and maintaining professional boundaries, with an understanding of the potential impact of vicarious trauma and burnout in this work.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault in a clinical setting, including knowledge of trauma-informed advocacy and crisis intervention principles.

Experience facilitating support groups or psychoeducational workshops for survivors or related populations.

Bilingual proficiency in languages commonly spoken by the communities served by the organization.

Knowledge of local resources and systems of care for survivors, including legal and social service agencies, shelters, and medical providers.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
