Randall Fire Protection is
seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Electrician with Low
Voltage Controls experience to install, maintain, and repair fire
alarm systems and control systems and related equipment on project
throughout Central Florida.
Position Summary
The technician will ensure that all
systems are functional, compliant with codes, and meet safety standards. This
role requires experience in installing electrical conduit, wiring (Rough In)
and understanding low voltage installation for fire alarm systems and controls
(HVAC), excellent troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to maintaining the
safety of occupants and property.
Essential Functions
- Installation of electrical conduits
(EMT, FLEX, MC, RIGID,) Bending EMT Conduit, Installation of junction boxes,
unistruts, conduit hangers and all related tasks for Rough In and pulling
wires.
- Installation of enclosure, panel
boxes/cabinets, raceways, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints,
schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of work
performed, assessment information (panels and devices brands and models).
- Collaborate with contractors,
electricians, and building officials during installations or renovations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state,
and federal fire safety regulations
- Installation of field devices for fire
alarm and building automation systems related components (e.g., smoke
detectors, pull stations, control panels, signaling devices, relays).
- Diagnose system malfunctions and
perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
- Be able to identify preventive
maintenance and service.
- Read and interpret blueprints,
schematics, and technical manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of work
performed, assessment information (panels and devices brands and models).
- Collaborate with contractors,
electricians, and building officials during installations or renovations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state,
and federal fire safety regulations.
Desired
Qualification Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Fully fluent in English. (Speaking,
Writing, Reading)
- Minimum 3 years (or formal education
equivalent) of electrical experience (120v), installation (Rough in, Conduit
installation (Bending EMT), Wiring).
- Strong troubleshooting and
problem-solving skills.
- Controls installation and
troubleshooting is a plus.
- Fire alarm installation and
troubleshooting is a plus.
- Own and safely use hand and power
tools and electrical tools (e.g. Drill, Impact, Multimeter, Hi/Low Voltage
Detector, etc.)
- Valid driver's license with a clean
driving record.
- Good communication and customer
service skills. You will be the face and voice of the company when working in
the field.
- Ability to work independently with
minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks on the job site.
- OSHA 10 / 30 Certification (Is a plus,
not required)
Physical Requirements
This is primarily a field or jobsite
job. You must be able to lift a dead weight of at least 50
pounds and stand on your feet for several hours at a time. You must also be able to bend,
stretch, crouch, and lift as required by the job, be
able to respond quickly to sounds, see and respond to dangerous situations, and
properly wear personal protective gear.
