Randal Retail Group, established in 1981, is a third-generation family-owned business operated out of Batavia, IL. Randal manufacturers and installs custom store fixtures, signage, and graphics. Our team designs and manufactures custom millwork, seating, and tables – nationally and internationally. Randal Retail works with a number of retail, foodservice, health & fitness and franchise operations.
About the role
The purchasing assistant supports the purchasing and receiving team by developing and managing relationships with key suppliers and support incoming receiving procedures.
Core Responsibilities
- Ability to interact with various departments within the company to ensure the timely manufacturing of customers’ parts, processing of customers’ requirements and orders
- Schedule and monitor inbound freight utilizing cost savings practices
- Manage stock room level re-order points and identify purchasing needs
- Prepare and issue MRO purchase orders in accordance with the company’s policy
- Oversee timely receiving of MRO supplies and work with shop floor to ensure proper placement of items in correct locations
- Assist with labeling of racks and ensuring product is placed in correct location
- Identify and support unacceptable materials or services with vendors
- Assist with material handling
- Help to lower overall purchasing costs & secure agreements that result in reduced costs
- Assist with setting up new suppliers

Requirements
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- High School diploma
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Ability to perform in fast-paced environments
- Previous experience in supply chain recommended
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs
