Prepares and processes inventory receipts and customer shipments in accordance with company procedures, customer routing guides, and carrier requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Request on time routing for multiple customers based on routing guides and individual customer web sites (Vendor Central, Retail Link, MacysNet etc.)
- Create daily BOL and shipping documents specific to the customers
- Respond to internal/external customers and carriers regarding carrier or containers delays, missed pickups, or delivery issues
- Review and Interpret Route Guides for changes to requirements to avoid chargebacks. Includes customer contact for clarification and negotiations of terms. Execute route guide requirements
- Schedule daily TL and LTL carrier pickups for all outbound shipments
- Check in drivers at window based on type of delivery or pickup requirements
- Assign carriers and containers to specific loading door
- Print and distribute BOLs
- Monitor and follow-up by hour carriers that are late and update or reschedule appt time
- Email customer information to designated locations as required
- Close BOLs to generate invoicing and ASNs
- Manually enter shipping information and send ASNs for Customers where Totes has not developed EDI capabilities using web based interface (SPS Commerce)
- Create daily outbound shipping schedule
- Track shipments for key customers or internal requests
- Support processing of PODs, Claims, and Chargebacks
- Handle Export shipping paperwork for international orders
- Punch and verify containers for inbound receiving
- Maintain spreadsheet for arrivals and departures of inbound containers
- Create necessary receiving paperwork prior to arrival of inbound containers
- Cross train for logistics department proficiency. Cross functional assignments in DC Operations areas for coverage during peak and non-peak seasons
- Other duties as needed and assigned
- Overtime when required
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Prior warehouse experience a plus.
- Retail LTL and TL Transportation experience with receiving and shipping
- Experience with Customer Route Requesting such as Retail Link/Vendor Central/Transplace
- Ability to multi-task and quickly learn the shipping and receiving processes for multiple customers and vendors
- Customer service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational and time management skills
- WMS/experienced. PKMS preferred
- Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word proficiency
- Detail oriented; ability to prioritize and work under pressure
- Lift and carry 35 pounds average lifting is less than 10 pounds
- Reach above shoulder level and bend down to floor level
- Sit at workstation for 8 – 10 hours per day.
