Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive curriculum plans tailored to various age groups, skill levels, and learning objectives, incorporating elements such as singing, instrument playing, and music theory.
- Deliver engaging lessons that motivate students to explore different musical styles, techniques, and genres, including classical, ballet, pop, jazz, rock, metal, theater music, and contemporary sounds.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a respectful and productive learning environment conducive to artistic growth in large and small group setting.
- Provide individualized tutoring sessions to support students’ progress in specific instruments or vocal techniques.
- Organize and supervise performances, recitals, or showcases that allow students to demonstrate their talents confidently.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects to enrich the educational experience.
Experience
- Proven classroom experience teaching music in educational settings, including early childhood education or preschool environments.
- Strong background in curriculum development
- Demonstrated ability in classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster an engaging, and positive learning atmosphere.
- Experience working with children and students with diverse learning needs, including those requiring additional support through special education techniques.
- Proficiency in teaching and playing strings, woodwind, brass, or percussion.
Strongly Preferred:
- Music degree or currently pursuing one
- Experience preparing students for recitals or performances
- Able to teach multiple instruments
- Prior teaching experience preferred (private lessons, classrooms, or group settings)
- Comfortable working with beginner to intermediate students, especially children
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Basic knowledge of music theory and technique fundamentals
- Ability to follow a structured curriculum while adapting to individual student needs
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
