Elementary School Substitute Teacher
Title: Substitute Teacher
Supervisor: Principal
Classification: PT1: Non-exempt
Description: A substitute teacher is responsible for providing instruction, promoting student progress and managing the classroom environment in the absence of the full time classroom teacher.
Areas of Expected Proficiencies:

Maintain classroom control that fosters a safe, positive environment for all students and staff in accordance with school, state and all applicable laws and regulations

Implement existing lesson plans provided, if provided; Collaborate with principal and grade level teachers to determine lesson plan, if not available

Demonstrate professional practices in teaching in alignment with Rancho guidelines and policies
Other Expectations:

Actively and collaboratively participate as a member of the school faculty when present

Keep phone and email communications responsive

Perform all other duties as assigned

Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree

Ability to comply with both written and oral instructions

Proficiency in maintaining efficient classroom management skills

Self-motivated

Obtain certificate of negative result for TB screening prior to hire
