Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed trucks with automatic transmissions across designated routes, adhering to all safety regulations and traffic laws
- Secure loads properly on flatbeds
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the tractor-trailer, checking brakes, tires, lights, and load stability
- Plan optimal routes for timely deliveries while accommodating any route-specific requirements or restrictions
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and vehicle maintenance records in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries, providing exceptional customer service throughout the process
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a focus on flatbed operations and route driving
- Excellent driving record with a solid understanding of commercial driving laws and safety protocols
- Physical ability to handle freight loading tasks and perform vehicle inspections regularly
