Position Overview
Part Production Operators set-up, operate, load, and maintain machinery. They are responsible for ensuring the machine produces high quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.
Primary Functions and Responsibilities
- Inventory control of parts and material
- Operates production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications (assigned machines may include lathes, grinders, mills, and similar equipment)
- Produces the required quantity of parts within the specifications and tolerances
- Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance of function, quality, and cosmetic specifications
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including records of errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces
- Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment, performs basic and routine adjustments and maintenance
- Follow 5S housekeeping standards
- Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment
- Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations
- The ability to read and understand customer drawings.
- Fork truck operations
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team
- Strong analytic problem solving skills and basic math skills
Work Environment
- Warehouse environment (non-temperature-controlled environment)
- Capable of lifting up to 30 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to stand for 8 hours
