Overview

Rampart Multi-Family Management a top leader in the property management business is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Leasing Agent to join our property management team in the New Orleans area. In this vital role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective tenants and current residents, guiding them through the leasing process with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your expertise in property leasing, legal regulations, and customer service will ensure a seamless experience for clients while maintaining compliance with fair housing laws and other regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a thriving community by managing lease agreements, fostering client relationships, and supporting property operations with energy and dedication.

Duties

• Engage with prospective tenants via phone, email, and in-person visits to showcase available properties and answer inquiries promptly.
• Manage lease or rental agreement processes from application to move-in, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
• Utilize property management tools such as Yardi, to track leads, applications, and lease statuses efficiently.
• Conduct thorough background checks, including landlord-tenant law compliance, Section 8 housing programs, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations, and fair housing policies.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure property readiness and address tenant concerns related to property upkeep.
• Negotiate lease terms with applicants while upselling additional services or amenities to maximize occupancy rates.
• Maintain detailed records through data entry, filing, and proper documentation of contracts, legal notices, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with team members on budgeting activities related to leasing operations and property management.
• Handle conflict management situations professionally by mediating disputes between tenants or addressing complaints effectively.
• Stay updated on local real estate regulations, landlord-tenant laws, and industry best practices to ensure compliance at all times.

Skills

• Proven experience with property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant law, fair housing regulations and Section 8 programs.
• Tax Credit Experince preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone etiquette and client interactions.
• Demonstrated ability in negotiation and conflict resolution within a property management context.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for administrative tasks such as data entry and reporting.
• Experience in real estate administrative functions including filing, record keeping, and legal administrative processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in lease management and client communication.
• Knowledge of property maintenance coordination and facilities management principles is a plus.
• Strong team management skills along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
