The Kennel Attendant plays a vital role in maintaining the health, cleanliness, and well-being of animals within a small kennel team. This position requires strong animal care skills along with excellent communication and multitasking abilities. Working under the direct supervision of the Kennel Manager, attendants ensure that pets receive proper exercise, medication, and grooming within regular morning and afternoon shifts.
Responsibilities
- Answer calls and emails related to kennel services and animal care
- Track and administer non-injectable medications as instructed
- Walk dogs to provide regular exercise and stimulation
- Bath dogs to maintain hygiene and comfort
- Clean kennel runs/scoop poop
- Clean cat kennels/change litter
- Clean main front office
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years experience in animal care
- Proficient in animal handling techniques
- Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation protocols
- Strong customer service skills
- Physical stamina for active animal care duties
- Ability to work effectively in a small team environment
- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
- Basic computer literacy for communication and record-keeping
