Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of experience as a heavy-duty mechanic, including work on buses and trucks; A.S.E. accreditation by a nationally recognized trade institute; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities Possession of a valid California Driver's License Possession of a valid California Commercial Class B Driver's License with air brake endorsement Possession of a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate Ability to qualify and maintain qualification for District vehicle insurance coverage and other applicable licenses permitting special handling of chemicals insect and pest control. Pass the District Exam.
Application Packet: Copy of High school diploma or equivalent. Copy of valid California Driver's License Copy of valid California Commercial Class B Driver's License with air brake endorsement Copy of a valid Medical Examiner's Certificate Copy of Department of Motor Vehicle’s H-6 printout must accompany application. If you have taken the exam for Diesel Technician with a passing score of 70% within the last two years, Human Resources will verify your testing score and you will not need to take the District exam for this position. (Testing scores are good for two years from the original testing date.)
