Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, ensuring a welcoming environment.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointment bookings, confirmations, and rescheduling.
- Handle medical collections and insurance verification processes efficiently.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review documentation for completeness and accuracy, including care plans and medical histories.
- Utilize EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, or similar software for patient management.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks, including CPT coding, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding.
- Respond to patient inquiries via phone or in-person with excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Perform clerical duties such as filing, typing, and maintaining organized medical records.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical administrative support role is preferred.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, eClinicalWorks) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and billing practices.
