What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Specialist position at Ramco Supply?

At Ramco you would be part of a close-knit conservative team, working for a technologically advanced manufacturing company, selling metal roofing, and building materials
We are looking for someone to help assist in our dispatch department to help ensure that our delivery drivers deliver building materials to the job site as efficiently as possible.
To be successful as a dispatcher you should be able to work in a fast paced environment with the ability to solve problems quickly. While no degree is required, prior logistics experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Dispatch drivers and coordinate the transportation of goods and materials
- Utilize GPS and transportation management systems to track and monitor shipments
- Analyze transportation data to optimize routes and ensure timely delivery
- Communicate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to provide updates on shipment status
- Resolve any issues or delays that may arise during transportation
Skills:
- Previous experience in dispatching or logistics preferred
- Strong analytical skills to analyze data and make informed decisions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with drivers and customers
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
