PURPOSE  

The Maintenance Manager provides technical, mechanical, and electrical support throughout the facility with a heavy focus on preventive maintenance and safe workplace practices. Responsible for the planning, scheduling, assignment and coordination and or execution of the activities within the maintenance group to ensure equipment availability that supports production and the facility needs for a world class two or three shift operation. This will require developing a preventive/predictive maintenance program specific to the plant equipment and building a team and department to handle the duties as described.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

1. Accountable for ensuring 24/7 maintenance coverage to support continuous operations
2. Schedule and direct a crew of maintenance technicians involved in craft specialties.
3. Provide training, work direction and guidance while performing work in one or more of the skilled trades.
4. Assist technicians in scheduling work and determining needs for equipment and supplies.
5. Report to Operations Manager regarding work completed referring unusual technical or personnel issues.
6. Hire, train, monitor, develop and retain Maintenance staff, provide constructive and corrective feedback on a regular basis and conduct annual performance reviews.
7. Develop step by step work instructions for preventive maintenance tasks within current PM software (Maintimizer) and train technicians with verification of proper execution of tasks.
8. As a working manager, this position may need to perform a wide variety of skilled journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of production and facility equipment.
9. Effectively and safely operate a variety of heavy industrial shop tools and equipment.
10. Effectively use electrical testing equipment for diagnosis and repair
11. Repair and possible fabrications to and for equipment.
12. Prioritize scheduled and assigned work.
13. Interpret blueprint, shop drawings, sketches and work orders.
14. Work as a team and independently with little direction.
15. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with production personnel, Quality Assurance and maintenance team.
16. Assembles, installs and or repairs: wiring, electrical and electronic components, plumbing/pipe systems, physical structures, fixture, paint, HVAC systems, compressors, engines etc.
17. Coordinate and oversee various maintenance contractors on-site as necessary.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS listed below are indicative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to be successful in this position.

1. High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
2. 10 years of industrial maintenance experience.
3. Experience working with industrial electrical control systems.
4. Working knowledge of PLC systems.
5. Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing machinery.
6. Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
7. Excellent organizational skills.
8. Strong communication skills.
9. Ability to work overtime hours as necessary.
10. Ability to perform at high levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.

MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS described here are representative of those that must be routinely met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of this position without compromising the safety of individual or others.

1. Constant standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
2. Frequently lifts, carries, pushes, or pulls medium weights up to 50 pounds.
3. Constantly using eyes to focus on close or far objects.  Good peripheral, depth perception and hand eye coordination.

WORKING CONDITIONS described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee while performing the essential duties of this position. Majority of work performed in industrial manufacturing and maintenance area.

1. Spends most time indoors with occasional tasks outside in all-weather conditions for one hour plus.
2. Possible exposure to distraction/uncomfortable noise levels, hot/cold environments and vibration of body or extremities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, and normal hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, requiring flexibility in hours to support plant and facility needs, with possible overtime and weekend work on short notice.

Some travel is expected for this position.

Salary : $120,000 - $130,000
