High School ELA In-Person Teacher

Ramana Learning Center, a Consumer Choice Award–winning tutoring center, is a trusted education provider serving students in grades 2–12, with a strong focus on SAT Prep. Recognized for excellence in customer satisfaction and educational services, we are seeking a part-time High School English teacher to teach the weekend SAT reading and writing portions. The classes will be held in person at our facility located at 7000 Parkwood Blvd, Frisco, TX 75034.

We offer flexible and consistent scheduling, with predictable bi-weekly pay. Teachers are required to be available at least one day on the weekend. Compensation ranges from $35 to $40 per hour. We are seeking highly skilled, motivated, reliable, and dynamic individuals with strong communication skills to join us on this exciting journey. We prefer local candidates only.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach SAT Reading and Writing (ELA) concepts, strategies, and test-taking techniques to middle and high school students.
• Deliver structured, engaging, and supportive in-person lessons.
• Provide individualized instruction to help students strengthen reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, and writing skills.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with SAT and College Board standards.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and inclusive classroom environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching ELA at the middle school or high school level.
• Strong knowledge of SAT Reading & Writing content and question types.
• Excellent communication, instructional, and classroom management skills.
• Availability to teach at least one day on weekends.
• Willingness to conduct an in-person demo lesson as part of the hiring process.
• Cover letter required with application.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience teaching SAT or ACT ELA preparation.
• Teaching certification in English, Language Arts, or a related subject.
• Familiarity with the Digital SAT format and College Board standards.
• Local candidates strongly preferred.
