General Entry-Level Machine Operator

This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits. The primary function of this position is to support the Ram Steel processing department by learning and operating various pieces of production equipment. This is an entry-level position, and training will be provided to safely set up and operate CNC plasma cutting machines, press brakes, laser cutting machines, and other processing equipment.

Moving employees between processing stations to best utilize manpower, as needed, is standard operating procedure. The person in this position will report directly to the Production Manager. Safety is always our #1 priority while working in our shop.

Starting Pay Rate: $22 - (DOE)

• This offer is subject to passing our pre-employment physical, drug test, and criminal background check.

Primary job functions will include:

• Learn and safely operate CNC plasma cutting machines, press brakes, laser cutting machines, and other processing equipment through on-the-job training.
• Produce high-quality parts according to work orders, blueprints, and production specifications while meeting quality and productivity standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and inspections as required.
• Assist other employees with processing projects as assigned by your supervisor.
• Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes to move materials to and from machinery.
• Cross-train on multiple machines and processing operations to support production needs.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned by management.

In addition to the above, you will maintain a professional attitude and good working relationship with fellow employees.

Your performance will be evaluated on:

• Production quality and quantity.
• Ability to safely learn and operate multiple processing machines.
• Efficiency in machine operation and accurate recording of labor hours.
• Safety performance and attendance.
• Accuracy of finished parts compared to work order specifications.
• Teamwork and cooperation with other Ram Steel employees to ensure efficient order processing.

Hours:

Day shift is normally 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours may be adjusted as business needs require. Overtime may be required and is a condition of employment.

All processing employees are required to provide and wear steel-toed boots. Ram Steel will provide leather gloves and any required tools.
