Role and Responsibilities
Specialist Level Duties
- Actively contribute to warehouse team morale by being fully committed to serve our customers with excellence every day.
- Assist Warehouse Manager in training new Pathways participants and proactively address training issues of participants at any point in their progression through the program.
- Assist the Warehouse Manager to manage daily workload and activity within the warehouse in any way necessary to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain a general understanding of the order fulfillment processes managed by the Warehouse Manager, including pick list creation, hard allocation management, production order creation as needed for expediting orders, and short assortment management.
- Perform special projects and tasks promptly as directed by Warehouse Manager.
- Proactively address any safety issues immediately by bringing them to the attention of the Warehouse Manager.
- Actively contribute to daily WIP meeting with warehouse team and be ready to lead if necessary.
General Warehouse Duties
- Perform all processes of the five main functions of the warehouse (receiving, production, picking, shipping, and cycle counting) with precision.
- Understand and follow all hazmat shipping policies and procedures.
- Load and unload LTL trucks as needed.
- Process customer and truck returns as needed.
- Load and unload truck inventories for new trucks, truck swaps, and other situations which may occur.
- Participate in cleaning schedule and perform all cleaning and maintenance duties with excellence.
- Participate in building upkeep as directed.
- Use all warehouse equipment in a safe and efficient manner, using extreme care to maximize the useful life.
2021 Outcomes
- Below are the outcomes shared by the current Warehouse Leads. These will not specifically apply to you for 2021, but you are encouraged to assist the current Warehouse Leads in completing these outcomes where you can.
- Warehouse Training Program (40% of Total Bonus)
- Assist in the development of the warehouse training manual for 5 major functions and implement 90-day training process for pathways onboarding.
- Contribute to the development of detailed and documented warehouse training for 5 major functions within warehouse as detailed in Pathways on boarding.
- Master proficiency in training process for all 5 major functions and successfully train all Pathways participants.
- Success will be determined by percent of candidates who pass all Pathways assessments within 90-Days of start. Category bonus will be awarded equal to success rate. For example, 4 candidates start and 3 pass all assessments = 75% success rate.
- Exceptions will be made for candidates who drop out or are removed for behavioral reasons. These will not count against success rate.
- If no new candidates are hired this year, or all hired candidates are exceptions then success will be determined by VPO approving of documented training and implemented procedures for training.
- Assist in the development of the warehouse training manual for 5 major functions and implement 90-day training process for pathways onboarding.
- Transition to Pathways Model (40% of Total Bonus)
- Assist in the successful transition from current warehouse model to pathways model.
- All warehouse employees are fully cross-trained and capable of handling all 5 major functions as defined by Pathways. Credit for this requirement is based on percent of warehouse employees who meet this requirement.
- All warehouse employees are in weekly rotation of functions so that workload is shared by all. Credit for this requirement is 100% or 0% based on review of rotation process and approval by VPO.
- Activity for all 5 major functions is being tracked by person. 20% credit for each function with trackable activity.
- All requirements listed above are equally weighted.
- Assist in the successful transition from current warehouse model to pathways model.
- Growth (20% of Total Bonus)
- No partial credit will be allowed without clearly defined goals by 9/1.
- Goals and completion details approved by VPO.
- Discuss and clearly define goals with Warehouse Manager.
