Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business, maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, and promoting our full line of lumber and building materials. This is a field-based position requiring regular visits to customer job sites, offices, and project locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the assigned territory
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with contractors, builders, and other key clients
- Conduct job site visits to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate products
- Prepare and present quotes, proposals, and product recommendations
- Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals
- Stay up to date on product knowledge, pricing, inventory levels, and industry trends
- Collaborate with internal teams including inside sales, purchasing, and delivery to ensure customer satisfaction
- Attend trade shows, networking events, and other industry functions to promote the company
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the lumber or building materials industry
- Strong knowledge of lumber products, construction methods, and market dynamics
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- High school diploma required; bachelor's degree in business or related field is a plus
