Role Description This full-time, on-site Field Safety Specialist role is based in Montgomery, AL. The Field Safety Specialist will support day-to-day safety operations on industrial construction sites, including conducting site safety walks, identifying hazards, and verifying compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This role will assist in developing and delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and safety orientations for field personnel and contractors. The specialist will participate in incident and accident investigations, document findings, and support corrective and preventive actions. Additional responsibilities include reviewing job safety analyses (JSAs), supporting Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) programs, maintaining safety records, and collaborating with project managers and supervisors to promote a strong safety culture on every project.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health knowledge, with experience applying these principles in an industrial or construction environment.
- Candidates should possess Environment Health and Safety (EHS) skills, including familiarity with applicable OSHA and environmental regulations and site-level EHS program support.
- Candidates should possess Safety Training and accident prevention skills, including the ability to deliver effective safety meetings, orientations, and toolbox talks.
- Candidates should possess Accident Investigation skills, including root-cause analysis, documentation, and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30, CHST, or other safety credentials are preferred.
- Experience working on industrial construction or heavy industrial sites is strongly beneficial.
- Strong communication, observation, computer and documentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with crew members, supervisors, and clients.
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions, travel to different work areas as needed, and use necessary personal protective equipment.
