Duties
- Safely operate a Class B automatic transmission truck for local or regional deliveries
- Load and unload freight efficiently using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks
- Drive different types of trucks including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers as needed
- Route driving to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery records
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and drop-offs
Skills
- Valid Class B driver’s license with automatic transmission experience
- Proven truck driving experience with a focus on freight delivery and route driving
- Knowledge of operating refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or manual methods
- Familiarity with manual transmission trucks (preferred but not mandatory)
- Strong understanding of safety procedures related to commercial driving and vehicle maintenance
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to follow detailed routes efficiently
