Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is now offering an Internship in Preconstruction/Estimating.
The selected Intern will receive training from experienced Estimators in fields such as Heavy Civil / Highway, Commercial Concrete, Bridge Estimating, Concrete Paving Estimating, and Piling and Shoring Estimating. The Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company (RLW) Internship Program provides opportunities to learn and obtain real-world, hands-on knowledge of technical construction principles, and the goal of our Internship Program is to evaluate the candidates' potential as a possible future full-time employee.

Internship Work Schedule
Summer 2026 (May – August)
Monday – Friday- 8:00AM to 5:00PM (working hours could vary)
- Possible part-time work during fall/winter semester (while attending school)
Position Description
Interns will assist the Estimators with:
- Data collection for bids
- Communicating with sub-contractors
- Calculating costs
- Visiting with Project Managers and Project Engineers
- Reviewing designs
- Organizing documents and data for estimating bids.
- Interns must be proficient with Microsoft Office Applications; have an attention-to-detail mindset; be able to multi-task; and demonstrate excellent communication skills. Ability to read construction drawings is essential for this role. Dependable transportation to and from work is required.
Position Requirements
- Junior or Senior (highly preferred)
- Minimum GPA 2.75
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or Construction Management
- Past construction work experience is preferred
- Work in an office environment most (if not all) of the internship duration
