POSITION: Title I Math Paraprofessional – 1 Year Grant-Funded Position
The successful candidate will possess the appropriate qualifications to support instruction and intervention in mathematics and demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students and staff in a school setting.
Job Description:
Under the direction of the School Principal and/or designee, the Title I Math Paraprofessional provides targeted instructional support to middle school and high school students who demonstrate gaps in mathematical knowledge and skills. This is a grant-funded, part-time, one-year position that delivers supplemental instruction in addition to students’ core mathematics courses.
The individual in this position is responsible for supporting students through small group and individualized instruction focused on foundational math skills. The Title I Math Paraprofessional works collaboratively with classroom teachers to identify areas of need and implement interventions that improve student understanding and performance. The position emphasizes building student confidence, reinforcing key concepts, and supporting academic growth through structured and consistent intervention.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will demonstrate knowledge of: basic mathematical concepts and instructional strategies; effective practices for supporting struggling learners; data-informed instructional practices; and an understanding of student learning differences and motivation.
The Title I Math Paraprofessional demonstrates the ability to work with students in both small group and individual settings; supports positive student behavior and engagement; collaborates effectively with teachers, administrators, and support staff; and maintains appropriate professional communication with all stakeholders. The individual possesses strong interpersonal skills and a working knowledge of the English language in written and verbal form.
Essential Duties:

Instructional Support
· Provide supplemental math instruction to middle and high school students to address gaps in foundational skills.
· Provide support in high school math and English.
· Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce concepts taught in core mathematics classes.
· Support students in developing problem-solving skills, computational fluency, and mathematical reasoning.
· Implement instructional strategies and interventions as directed by classroom teachers and administration.
Data & Intervention Support
· Collaborate with core academic teachers to identify student learning gaps and prioritize areas for intervention.
· Utilize state and local assessment data to inform instructional support and target specific skill deficits.
· Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student performance and growth.
· Adjust instructional approaches based on student needs and progress data.
Collaboration & Communication
· Establish and maintain effective working relationships with classroom teachers and
support staff.
· Communicate regularly with teachers regarding student progress and instructional needs.
· Participate in meetings, trainings, and professional development as required.
Compliance & Grant Requirements
· Comply with all Title I program requirements and expectations.
· Complete required documentation including time and effort logs and other grant-related
reporting.
· Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with federal
and state regulations.
The paraprofessional must:
· Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.
· Be ethical and reliable, and meet routine responsibilities consistently.
· Demonstrate the ability to support student learning and follow instructional direction
from certified staff.
· Exhibit patience, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills to relate well with students,
staff, administration, and families.
· Demonstrate the ability to use technology for instructional support, communication, and
data tracking.
· Possess knowledge of student learning needs, including those with IEPs and 504 plans.
· Have experience or familiarity with supporting students in mathematics instruction
(preferred).
Physical Requirement:
Position requires light work exerting up to twenty (20) pounds of force occasionally, and/or ten (10) pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Constant hearing, hand-eye coordination/mind-eye coordination; intermittent keyboarding and telephoning. Frequent repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.

School Year 2026–2027
Salary:
FY26 rate range- $18.15 - $22.11 depending on experience.
*Hourly rate in accordance with the ESP contract (negotiations pending).
