Job Title:Army JROTC Instructor (AI)
Reports To:Principal and Senior Army Instructor (SAI)
Primary Responsibility:
Serve as an instructor for the school’s Army JROTC program. Support the mission of motivating young adults to become better citizens, teach and provide leadership opportunities, facilitate community service and academic excellence. Assist students in developing the necessary skills to become contributing members of the community and to develop competencies that promote success beyond high school.
Roles and expectations:
Administer and manage the JROTC program effectively according to law, regulations, policies, principles, and under the guidance and direction of the Senior Army Instructor.
Deliver subject matter curriculum according to school guidelines and Army regulations.
Create and maintain a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning and appropriate for physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Ensure JROTC areas are kept neat and orderly.
Maintain accountability of all equipment.
Effectively communicate with parents, students, teachers, administration, and other school personnel.
Work cooperatively with other teachers, including special education teachers, to implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in a student’s IEP or 504 plan.
Participate in professional development in order to improve job-related skills.
Advise the Principal and the Senior Army Instructor on all matters relating to the school’s JROTC program.
All other duties assigned by the Principal and/or the Senior Army Instructor
Minimum Qualifications:
Army Instructor (AI) - Certified and approved by the U.S. Army Cadet Command as a JROTC Army Instructor (AI)
You must have reached the grade of E-6 through E-9 (Noncommissioned Officers).
Warrant Officers: W-1 through W-5
You must have at least 8 to 10 years of cumulative honorable service.
Status: You must fall into one of the following categories:
Retired: Retired from active duty with a minimum of 20 years of service.
Separated: Recently separated or retired within the past 5 years.
Active Reservist/National Guard: Currently serving in the ARNG or USAR (requires a Letter of Recommendation from your current Commander).
Other Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of subject matter.
Ability to instruct students and manage behavior
SALARY: $60,000 - $85,000 based on experience
