Under the direction of the BSA Director and/or the Assistant Vice President of Risk Management (AVP of Risk) manage and direct the overall operations of the BSA Analyst and Investigator teams in the Risk Management Department, including alert/SAR production, to effectively align department staff with the strategic and operational goals of the Credit Union.

Essential Job Functions
BSA/AML/CFT
- Responsible for overseeing the investigation of suspicious activity to ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
- Ensure that BSA/AML/CFT compliance monitoring, investigation, data validation, reporting and recordkeeping functions are performed according to procedure.
- Serves as BSA/ALM/CFT point of contact for questions from risk department and other credit union contacts.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of alerts and cases to ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory standards and mitigation of risk exposure, as applicable.
- Provide training and mentoring to Analysts and Investigators on SAR investigation techniques and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to address complex cases and ensure comprehensive investigations.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to SAR investigations and team performance.
- Motivate staff through training, coaching, supervision, and review of department metrics to fulfill department and credit union strategies.
- Assists with development and implementation of staff growth plans.
- Monitor the work performance of staff, assists in recommending performance or disciplinary actions as the situation warrants.
- Ensure that backups are assigned and trained for all duties under supervision.
- Responsible for staying current on BSA/ AML trends and shares that knowledge with their teams.
- Completion of BSA/AML compliance training annually.
- Other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Associate’s Degree in a relevant field or 64 hours of relevant college coursework. Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Four (4) years recent experience with BSA/AML compliance, with a focus on SAR investigations, and
- Two (2) years supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of BSA/AML regulations
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
- Proficiency in using BSA/AML software and tools
- Certification in AML is preferred (i.e., CAMS)
- Position involves wrist/hand manipulation; restriction to workstation for extended periods of time; ability to lift up to 30 lbs., ability to bend, stoop and reach overhead.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for frequent viewing of computer monitor and review of documents.
- May be required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and valid auto insurance.
- Communication abilities required by this job include clarity in speech and hearing for effective staff/member interaction.
- Must be able to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
- Must have a strong ability to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions.
- Must have a strong ability to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence.

- Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Incumbent must be available to travel within field of membership and work after normal business hours, when requested by management.
- Personal computer with windows environment, calculator, scanner, currency counter, cash advance terminal, drive-thru equipment, copier. Proficiency required in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- BSA/OFAC database management experience preferred.
