Overview:
Raleigh Neurosurgical Clinic, Inc. is seeking an experienced Neurosurgical Physician Assistant to join our growing team in Raleigh, North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside highly experienced neurosurgeons in complex spine, neurovascular, and functional neurosurgery while providing comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and operative care. This role requires participation in call rotation. Ideal candidates will have experience or strong interest in functional neurosurgery, including deep brain stimulation (DBS), vagus nerve stimulation (VNS), and spinal cord stimulation (SCS).
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in surgical procedures, including pre-operative and post-operative patient management.
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic interpretation.
- Provide ongoing care in the outpatient clinic, managing follow-up visits and patient consultations.
- Collaborate with neurosurgeons, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Participate in hospital rounds, performing procedures as credentialed, and ensuring continuity of care.
- Balanced clinical and surgical responsibilities with shared call coverage.
- Maintain accurate and thorough medical documentation in compliance with clinic policies.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure as a Physician Assistant in the state of North Carolina.
- Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- 3-5 years of experience as a practicing PA required.
- Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Functional neurosurgery experience preferred including: Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS), Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS), Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS).
- Neurovascular procedures and techniques.
- Management of patients with complex neurosurgical conditions.
