In-Office | Outpatient Infusions

Raleigh Medical Group, PA, is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide outpatient infusion and injection therapies within our Gastroenterology division. This role combines patient assessment, IV access, medication administration, and close monitoring with patient education and care coordination. You will work with providers and the clinical team to deliver safe, compassionate care in accordance with authorized orders and established protocols.

The ideal candidate brings strong IV skills, sound clinical judgment, attention to detail, and a reassuring approach to patients receiving ongoing treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients and review health history, allergies, vital signs, laboratory results, and required screenings before treatment
• Verify orders and prepare and administer prescribed biologic medications and other infusion or injection therapies using safe medication practices
• Establish and maintain IV access; care for central venous devices or implanted ports when assigned and after competency validation
• Verify dose and rate calculations and operate infusion pumps and equipment in accordance with provider orders
• Monitor vital signs, IV sites, and patient responses during treatment and required observation periods
• Recognize and respond promptly to infusion reactions and changes in patient condition, notifying providers and initiating authorized emergency procedures
• Obtain ordered blood specimens and document assessments, medications, infusion start/stop times, interventions, and treatment responses in the EHR
• Educate patients about treatment, symptoms to report, and follow-up care; triage infusion-related calls within nursing scope and protocols
• Coordinate appointments, medication availability, referrals, and clinical documentation with providers, scheduling, authorization staff, and pharmacies
• Maintain medication and supply inventory, proper storage conditions, and equipment readiness
• Follow infection-prevention, medication-safety, OSHA, HIPAA, and RMG confidentiality requirements
• Provide clinical direction to LPNs and unlicensed staff as assigned; participate in competency assessment, quality improvement, and other assigned nursing duties

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an approved registered nursing program
• Current, unrestricted RN licensure authorizing practice in North Carolina
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications, or obtained within three months of hire
• At least one year of clinical nursing experience and experience using an EHR
• Demonstrated IV insertion and medication administration skills
• Successful completion of required infusion competencies before independent practice
• Strong assessment, clinical judgment, communication, organization, and medication-calculation skills

Preferred:

• Two or more years of infusion nursing, IV therapy, or related outpatient clinical experience
• Experience administering biologic therapies and caring for patients with chronic gastrointestinal conditions
• Experience with central venous access devices or implanted ports, when used in the infusion clinic
