Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples through venipuncture and capillary puncture using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity.
- Prepare and process specimens accurately for laboratory testing, following established protocols.
- Assist with laboratory procedures, including handling specimens, labeling, and documentation to maintain precise records.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to support clinical assessments.
- Provide compassionate patient care by explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety guidelines.
- Support laboratory staff with routine tasks such as specimen processing, data entry, and inventory management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in laboratory procedures and techniques, preferably within a clinical or hospital setting.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and blood sampling methods including venipuncture.
- Hands-on experience with specimen collection, processing, and maintaining specimen integrity.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols, aseptic technique, and infection control practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior hospital or healthcare experience is highly desirable; relevant certifications in phlebotomy or laboratory techniques are a plus.
