Outside Rental Sales Representative

The role is responsible for driving rental profitability, growth, and account expansion within a designated territory or market segment by successfully promoting and renting the company’s products and services. This individual actively identifies and secures new customer accounts. The sales representative will manage rental operations across a range of products aligned with the assigned business unit.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

• Builds and maintains strong relationships with current and prospective customers within the assigned territory or market segment to drive new business.

• Promotes the organization’s products and services by fostering customer relationships and identifying opportunities within the territory.

• Conducts outreach through phone calls, digital communications, and in-person visits and presentations to engage existing and potential customers.

• Identifies and researches sources to develop new customer leads and assess their potential value.

• Prepares clear and compelling written proposals and quotations tailored to customer needs.

• Collaborates with marketing, sales management, accounting, logistics, and technical service teams to align sales efforts.

• Evaluates market potential and qualifies existing and prospective customers based on strategic value to the organization.

• Plans and executes a personal sales strategy focused on maximizing time investment and territory impact.

• Stays informed on product applications, technical services, market trends, competitive activity, and promotional strategies through ongoing research and collaboration with internal teams.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

(REQUIRED/PREFERRED)

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business or related field

• Minimum 3 years in outside sales and 1 year in business development

• Strong communication and presentation skills; comfortable speaking to groups

• Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM, and internal systems

• Organized, detail-oriented, and timely with administrative tasks

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude; basic inventory control knowledge

• Professional, customer-focused, and team-oriented

• Physically capable of performing job-related tasks

• Skilled in multitasking, time management, and problem-solving

• Provides customer insights and market feedback to management

• Participates in trade shows and promotes products through consultative selling
