Role Overview:
Raise the Bar is seeking a strong, energetic, and organized Camp Lead to help prepare and run our Kids Club Summer Camp (ages 4–11). This is a short-term, high-impact leadership role designed to support a one-week camp experience for youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their neurotypical siblings.
The Camp Lead will support staff training, assist in preparation and logistics, lead activities, manage volunteers, and serve as a small group leader during camp week. This role requires confidence, flexibility, and experience working with youth — ideally youth with disabilities.
Schedule & Time Commitment (Total: 78 Hours)
Week 1: Training Week (July 27)
Approximately 20 hours
- Participate in staff training
- Review behavior plans and participant needs
- Assist in activity preparation
- Support volunteer onboarding
Week 2: Preparation Week (August 3)
Approximately 20 hours
- Finalize camp materials and activity plans
- Support room setup and organization
- Coordinate volunteer assignments
- Review safety and supervision protocols
Week 3: Camp Week (August 10)
Approximately 38 hours
- Camp runs Monday–Friday
- Staff hours approximately 8:30am–4:00pm daily
- Lead small group of campers
- Facilitate structured activities
- Support behavior regulation and positive engagement
- Train and support volunteers in real time
- Assist with daily setup and clean-up
Program Overview
Kids Club Summer Camp is a structured, inclusive one-week camp designed for youth ages 4–11 with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), and their siblings.
Camp days include:
- Welcome activity
- Group games
- Sensory stations
- Creative arts
- Outdoor play—playground & splashpad
- Lunch
- Rotating small-group activities

Work Expectations:
- Fully in-person role in Camden or Voorhees, NJ
- Must be available for all three weeks listed—July 27-August 14
- Must arrive on time and prepared
- High energy and active engagement required
- Comfortable managing transitions and flexible scheduling adjustment
- Comfortable working with young children—must be comfortable with changing diapers/ clothing of children
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a small group of campers throughout the week
- Facilitate and model structured activities
- Support positive behavior strategies and emotional regulation
- Help train, guide, and support volunteers
- Ensure safety and supervision best practices are followed
- Communicate effectively with RTB leadership
- Assist with daily setup, transitions, and clean-up
- Help create a warm, inclusive, and engaging camp environment
- Assist with camper toileting, changing, and overall support
Rates and Perks:
- Hourly Rate: $16- $20, based on experience

Experience and Qualifications
Required:
- Age: 18
- Availability on July 27-August 14
- Experience working with youth
- Strong communication skills
- Dependable and organized
- Comfortable leading small groups
- Alignment with Raise the Bar’s mission
Strongly preferred:
- Experience working with youth with disabilities
- Background in education, special education, psychology, social work, or youth development
- Experience supervising or mentoring volunteers
- Spanish Language proficiency
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
