Responsibilities:
- Program and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley and Mitsubishi PLC systems
- Develop, modify, and optimize PLC code
- Analyze mechanical systems and implement automation improvements
- Diagnose and repair issues involving sensors, valves, motors, and control systems
- Work with servo motors, stepper motors, encoders, and power transmission systems
- Support hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps and motors
- Evaluate system performance and lead process improvement initiatives
- Train operators and maintenance staff on system updates and improvements
- Utilize Excel and related tools for tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams
- Maintain strong attendance and reliability standards
Qualifications:
- Experience programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Strong mechanical aptitude with intuition for sensors, valves, and automated systems
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics (required)

Rainier Veneer is a softwood veneer plant, founded in 1992. We are one of the largest softwood veneer manufacturing companies on the west coast. In 2008, we expanded our operations by creating Rainier Fiber to produce premium wood fiber mulch from veneer byproducts for hydro-seeding and erosion control.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional weekend work required for maintenance and planned shutdowns.
