Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a friendly and welcoming atmosphere
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management OpenDental
- Verify insurance coverage, process payments, and handle billing inquiries with accuracy and attention to detail
- Manage incoming phone calls using multi-line phone systems, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Maintain accurate and organized dental records, including medical history, treatment plans, and documentation review
- Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical history and updating electronic health records
- Support office administrative tasks like filing, faxing, data entry (10 key typing), and managing medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and effective care plans delivery
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental front desk role with strong knowledge of dental terminology
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as OpenDental
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and HIPAA compliance standards
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive information discreetly and professionally
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
- Previous dental office experience is required
- Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and office management tasks
