Seasonal Restaurant Manager
Rainier BaseCamp Bar & Grill | Ashford, WA

Rainier BaseCamp Bar & Grill, located six miles outside Mount Rainier National Park, is seeking an experienced Seasonal Restaurant Manager to lead daily restaurant operations during the busy summer tourism season.
About us
We are a small, locally owned seasonal Bar and Grill located in Ashford at Rainier BaseCamp, six miles outside Mount Rainier National Park. BaseCamp is also home to RMI Expeditions, one of the largest mountain climbing guide services in North America, and Whittaker Mountaineering, a specialty outdoor retail store. Our customers are climbers, hikers, park visitors, and locals, creating a fun, high-energy environment. Throughout the summer, we offer live music every weekend in our outdoor park-like setting, enhancing the laid-back vibe at BaseCamp.
Position Overview
This is a hands-on management role focused on staff leadership, food quality, customer service, and day-to-day execution. This position is not an overall General Manager role; strategic pricing, long-term planning, and ownership decisions remain with Ownership. The Restaurant Manager ensures smooth daily operations and a positive guest and team experience.
What You'll Do
- Manage daily BOH and FOH restaurant operations
- Supervise, train, and support a seasonal staff (approximately 15 employees)
- Create and manage staff schedules
- Lead restaurant shifts and jump in where needed (kitchen, grill, register, floor)
- Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and customer service
- Manage food and beverage ordering and inventory within established systems
- Handle cash management, register reconciliation, and POS oversight
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and labor regulations
- Lead health department inspections and maintain readiness
- Address customer concerns professionally and promptly
- Provide operational feedback and recommendations to Ownership
- Support early-season setup and end-of-season shutdown
What We're Looking For
- 3 years of high-volume food service leadership or management experience
- Strong organizational, communication, and team leadership skills
- Comfortable working long shifts on your feet in a fast-paced environment
- Square POS experience required; basic computer skills preferred
- Computer skills - Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google docs preferred.
- Personal computer required.
- Reliable transportation
- Knowledge and compliance with all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to health, safety, and labor requirements.
- Food Handler's Permit and MAST Alcohol Certification
- ServSafe or similar certification preferred
- Must pass background check
