Carpenter - II

Rainbow Valley Design and Construction, Inc. seeks a Carpenter II to join our Construction Team

Rainbow Valley Design and Construction, Inc. is actively seeking candidates of diverse backgrounds to work on our Construction Team.

This role is an intermediate carpenter level position working exclusively in client based residential construction. Carpenters II’s work primarily at the direction of our Lead Carpenters and are expected to produce and participate in a variety of construction-related aspects of our projects. This might include digging, demolition, foundations, framing, siding, and interior trim. Carpenter II’s can also be expected to work independently, and at times with minimal guidance. This role involves physical work and manipulation of heavy items. This role involves safe and knowledgeable use of carpentry related power tools. This role involves an introductory knowledge of safe working methods, OSHA requirements, and a willingness to adhere to these rules. Finally, this role involves a willingness to work collaboratively with our team, and collaborators, to bring positive results to our clients’ projects.

PERFOMANCE EXPECTATIONS and ROLE:

Qualities - Moderately skilled carpenter

-Experience in multiple carpentry phases: framing, finish, siding, decking, etc

-Ability to work alone with instructions

-Ability to work as part of a crew

-Responsible and presentable

-Personal tools and reliable transportation

-Appropriate and timely communication with lead carpenter and/or project manager

-Accurate and timely completion of paperwork

-Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and implementation on job sites

-Willing collaborator and learner

-Strong problem solving, troubleshooting and efficiency aptitudes.

-Organization with tools, procedures, time tracking, and paperwork.

-Have appropriate clothing for the task.

-An ability to work safely on construction sites that might involve varied terrain, tight spaces and heavy items.

-Timely and clear communication with co-workers, clients, sub-contractors, and vendors. Digitally, and in person.

Physical Requirements

-Lift heavy and light weights from a variety of positions

-Push and pull various objects from a variety of positions

-Squat, bend, kneel, and stand for long periods

-Twist at the waist

-Drive a motorized vehicle

-Climb ladders and scaffolding

-Balance well on planks and at various heights

-Grip tools and materials with both hands

JOB SPECIFICS BENEFITS:

· Hours: This is a full-time position. For us that means 37-40 hours per week. We rarely work weekends or exceed 40 hours or work in one week.

· Hourly Compensation: This position can expect to make between $25.00 and $31.00 an hour based on experience and with the benefits listed below.

· Benefits:

o : You will be eligible after 60 days of employment. We offer a Silver-level plan (employees pay $50/month) or a Health Savings Account plan (employees pay $35/month)

o : You start accruing paid time off (PTO) immediately and can start using it after 30 days. Year 1-4 you are eligible for up to 48 hours. Years 5-9 – 80 hours. Years 10-19 – 120 hours. Years 20 - 160 hours.

o : We pay your wages for 6 holidays and 1 birthday a year. You can choose the holidays for which you would like to be paid.

o : We match your contributions to a retirement account up to 3% of your gross wages. This benefit starts on the first of the calendar year after you are hired and have earned $5000.00

o : We give out annual bonuses at the end of the year based on the profitability of the year, an employee’s individual effort, and their longevity with Rainbow Valley.
