Our History
Rainbow Rising was established in 1989 for the sole purpose of meeting the needs of the school age children in Irvine, California. We are currently located at 15 elementary schools in Irvine. We provide before and after school care as well as all day care when school is not in session. Our all day programs include fall intersessions, winter and spring recess, summer day camp, teacher in-service days, minimum days, modified days and parent conference days.
Our Programs
We have a developmentally based program with homework and enrichment time, recreational play, crafts, arts, music, dance, science and math. We provide opportunities for socialization, friendships and free choice play, as we believe these are essential building blocks for the whole child’s growth and development.Rainbow Rising Before and After School Care centers are looking for creative, energetic, compassionate and reliable individuals with experience in the field of childcare. Our employees take part in making a difference in children's lives in addition to helping in providing a quality, safe and enjoyable program for children to explore and thrive in.
Rainbow Rising employees are expected to successfully work in a collaborative environment, effectively supervise groups of children, and lead a vast array of activities and events for ages 4 - 12.
- Job Summary
Provides general supervision of all children, while maintaining a ratio of 1:14. Develops and plans age appropriate
curriculum and activities, which are designed to promote physical, mental, and social development.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervision of children, maintaining a 1:14 ratio at all times Monthly curriculum planning
Facilitate planned activities with small and large groups
Uses positive intervention methods to effectively redirect child behavior Maintain an organized and clean center
Attend mandatory staff meetings, trainings, and workshops
- Minimum Qualifications
18 years of age
Fingerprint Clearance
Current TB and Health Screening Current CPR and First Aid Certification Required Vaccinations Fall Availability: MTTHF 2:00pm-5:30/6:00pm and Wednesdays 1:00pm-5:30/6:00pm Summer Availability: Monday - Friday
- Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High School Diploma
Completion of 12 ECE or Title 22 qualifying units 6 months of 4 hours per day supervising children
