Position SummaryThe Advanced Level Sommelier is responsible for creating memorable wine experiences for our guests while supporting the restaurant's beverage program. This role works closely with the Executive Chef and Restaurant Management to maintain an exceptional wine list, provide staff education, manage inventory, and deliver polished tableside wine service.
Responsibilities
- Guide guests through wine selections with confidence and enthusiasm.
- Recommend food and wine pairings that enhance the dining experience.
- Maintain and organize the wine cellar and beverage inventory.
- Assist with purchasing, receiving, and inventory management.
- Train and educate front-of-house staff on wines, pairings, and service standards.
- Ensure proper storage, rotation, and presentation of wines.
- Collaborate on wine dinners, special events, and seasonal pairing menus.
- Deliver exceptional hospitality while building lasting guest relationships.
- Support front-of-house operations as needed.
Qualifications
- Advanced wine knowledge with formal training or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of fine dining or upscale restaurant experience.
- Strong knowledge of Old World and New World wines.
- Excellent communication and guest service skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
