POSITION SUMMARY
The Hardware Department is organized into three key areas: Order Fulfillment, Receiving, and Production. In Order Fulfillment, the primary responsibility is to efficiently stack boxes and hardware bags onto pallets in an orderly manner before transferring them to the shipping department. Production focuses on assembling boxes according to build sheets, which involve combining a variety of components to ensure stock levels in the warehouse. In the Receiving area, our team is tasked with loading and unloading trucks and containers, accurately accounting for their contents, and storing them appropriately within our warehouse. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assemble, tape, and correctly label boxes.
- Retrieve all necessary parts and accurately assemble the accessory using build sheets depending on production needs.
- Cute rope to a specific size and glue on caps
- Correctly stack boxes on a pallet in a uniform manner
- Manage inventory via warehouse management system
- Fulfil customer orders by assembling pallets and boxes depending on the customers’ needs
- Move pallets to individual sections of the area
- Wash tires and connect appropriate hardware
- Assemble hardware bags using hardware list.
- Unload semi/container trucks using a forklift
- Notify proper person when supplies are running low.
- Keep area neat, organized, and clean.
- Differentiate between types and sizes of hardware when performing quality checks.
- Employees responsible for submitting Continuous improvement ideas with the goal being continuous betterment of the department’s operations.
- Other duties as assigned
- Adhere to Company policies and safety standards.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Basic computer skills
- Experience with a warehouse management system or ERP preferred
- Be able to comprehend a pack list and blueprints
- Operate a pallet jack, tape gun, hydraulic press, chop saw, and power washer
- Use a tape measure to the nearest 1/8 of an inch
- Forklift experience preferred
- Count accurately and efficiently
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIROMENT
- May work individually or as a team of 2-4 people
- Work environment may be hot, cold, dusty, wet, and loud and one could be exposed to fumes.
- Working conditions include 10- hour days, overtime as needed
- Exposure to fumes from PVC glue
- Box Lift- ability to lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis
- Be able to use ladders/ step ladders
- Drug test
- Ability to work in other departments and adhere to their essential job functions.
