What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Specialist position at RAINBOW HOUSE?
Youth Specialist provide direct services to children in our Emergency Shelter. You work as a team with other Youth Specialist to provide a safe environment for living, learning, and being a child. This position is responsible for the day to day care of the children while in our shelter. This includes preparing meals, serving meals, meal clean up, laundry, daily housekeeping assignments, planning and oversight of daily activities for the children and constant oversight of the children in our care. Overnight staff are required to perform daily cleaning list as well as 20 minute bed checks for children's safety. You must be 21 years of age or older and be able to pass a criminal background check. High School diploma or equivalent is necessary. A Class E driver's license is required within 30 days of employment. Our shifts are 7:00am-3:00pm, 3:00pm-11:00pm, 11:00pm-7:00am on all weekend shifts. You must be able to work weekends/overnights. Our greatest need is 3pm-11pm weekdays and all shifts on the weekend. Please do not apply if you are not available during these times. Starting pay is based on experience. You must be able to work weekend and overnight shifts. We are only looking for serious, responsible personnel. Starting pay for part time staff is $14.00/per hour and $15.00/per hour for full time staff.
