Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing engaging activities that promote childhood development and learning
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, nap times, and indoor/outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and inviting environment conducive to learning and exploration
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and child abuse prevention procedures
- Provide compassionate care tailored to the needs of infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, including diapering, feeding, and comforting
- Collaborate with team members to develop individualized care plans for children with special needs or disabilities
- Engage in ongoing training related to early childhood education, behavior management, and caregiving best practices
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, nannying, babysitting, or classroom settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education techniques
- Certification in first aid (including pediatric first aid) and CPR is required; additional certifications such as special education or working with individuals with disabilities are a plus
- Familiarity with classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques
- Experience working within mandated reporting laws to ensure child safety and compliance with legal requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with young children of diverse backgrounds and developmental stages
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude that fosters trust and positive relationships with children and families
Preferred:
- Fluent in English
- Able to speak Persian (Farsi) to communicate with children and families
- Experience working with young children in a daycare, preschool, classroom, or similar setting
- Background in Early Childhood Education, Teaching, Child Development, Art Education, or a related field (degree or coursework preferred)
- Patient, dependable, and enthusiastic about working with children
