Rain Carbon Inc. Purpose
Monitors and controls Key Process Indicators (KPI’s) within Rain Carbon’s calcination facilities. Identifies, develops, and implements cost effective process improvement projects. Manages projects including initiation, scope development, estimate work, procurement, construction, implementation, and project closure. SAP skills beneficial. Aids in turnaround planning. Microsoft Project experience recommended. Assists operations personnel to optimize plant process economics and meet environmental regulations. Supports plant supervision to achieve performance metrics. Leads Root Cause Analysis efforts to eliminate process failures. Facilitate DCS and control system maintenance, repairs, and improvements with support and communication with corporate Automation and Control Engineer. Responsible for all plant processes including calcination, combustion, heat recovery, high pressure steam generation, power generation, material storage & handling, dock operations, air & water emissions controls, and plant utilities & infrastructure.
Position Demands
A university degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering with 2 – 4 years of process or project engineering experience required. Desire and ability to understand, maintain, and improve the technical aspects of all the systems mentioned above. System equipment includes but is not limited to: rotary kilns & coolers, incinerator, turbine-generator & auxiliaries, boiler & auxiliaries, cooling tower & auxiliaries, pumps, air compressors and air driers, bag house, fans, etc. Requires good project management and troubleshooting skills.
Working Relationships
Reports to the Plant Manager. Interacts daily with the Plant Operations Manager and Plant Maintenance Manager. Has close contact with all other plant employees, vendors, and consultants. Consults with plant control operators regarding plant processes.
