Excavator Operator / Railcar Unloader
We are seeking experienced and dependable Excavator Operators and Railcar Unloaders to join our team. This is a traveling position requiring overnight travel, significant schedule flexibility, and regular overtime. Candidates must be available to respond to changing project needs, locations, and work schedules.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate excavators
- Load and unload aggregate from railcars.
- Travel to various job sites, including frequent overnight stays.
- Work extended hours and overtime based on operational needs.
- Remain flexible regarding schedules, assignments, and jobsite locations.
- Perform pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections.
- Complete basic equipment maintenance and report mechanical or safety concerns.
- Follow all company, railroad, and jobsite safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Work effectively with supervisors, railroad personnel, drivers, and other team members.
- Complete required operational and safety documentation.
Qualifications
- Previous excavators operating or railcar unloading experience is required.
- Must be willing and able to travel overnight.
- Must have significant scheduling flexibility.
- Must be available to work substantial overtime, including extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
- Strong safety awareness and attention to surroundings.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work as needed.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to pass all required background checks, drug screenings, and employment requirements.
