Job Description
Railroad Construction Company, Inc. is seeking an experienced and driven Superintendent to lead field operations across the New York metropolitan area. - Manage field operations for a heavy civil construction project guided by the following principles:
- Enforce company and OSHA safety policies; develop site-specific JHA’s and work plans.
- Lead field operations to ensure safety, quality, and productivity.
- Collaborate with project teams on schedules, work plans, and resource needs.
- Coordinate and supervise crews, forepersons, and daily activities.
- Communicate with owners and their representatives
- Communicate and collaborate with union representatives.
- Manage materials, equipment, and labor to meet project goals.
- Monitor production, costs, and progress to ensure efficiency and compliance.
- Attend project meetings and provide technical guidance.
- Support training and development of field personnel.
Requirements
To be considered, preferred applicants should present the following:
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
- 7 years of heavy civil experience (bridges, foundations, structures).
- 5 years supervisory experience.
- Proficient in concrete formwork, sheeting, piling, shoring, and utilities.
- Familiar with public works projects including agencies such as DEP, DEC, MNR, LIRR, NYCT, MTA C&D, NYSDOT.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Able to read blueprints, track costs, and meet tight deadlines.
- Computer proficiency and adaptability to new software.
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening.
