Intern - Track Engineering

Join RailPros as a Track Engineering Intern and gain hands-on experience in the exciting field of rail transportation infrastructure. This internship offers a unique opportunity to support the planning, design, and engineering of railroad track projects while working alongside experienced industry professionals. As a valued member of the team, you will assist with track geometry analysis, engineering calculations, design development, and project documentation, while gaining exposure to industry standards and best practices.

• Assist engineers in designing various rail and civil engineering projects.
• Perform alignment, draining, utilities, at-grade crossings, and earthwork design using AutoCAD,  Microstation, InRail.
• Cost estimating, specifications, and construction submittals review.
• Assist in preparation of rail and civil plans for freight, commuter, and transit projects.
• Limited field observation on project sites before, during, and after construction.
• Work closely with project managers to execute project deliverables.

• Proficiency with electronic communication (e-mail, text) and standard office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
• Basic oral and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

• Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
• 0-2 years’ experience  

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
