The Engineer V - Senior Engineer will work as a Senior Structural Engineer in our Railroad Bridges & Structures practice independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. This position uses advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments. Working on a major project or several projects of moderate scope with complex features is also a key factor.

The Engineer V - Senior Engineer will work as a Senior Structural Engineer in our Railroad Bridges & Structures practice independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of structural engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead railroad bridge engineering tasks and on occasion, highway and/or pedestrian bridge tasks
- Prepare complete project documents
- Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
- Develop new techniques and/or improve processes, materials, or products
- Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient with electronic communication including e-mail and text, as well as standard office applications (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Possess advanced oral and written communication skills
- Represent the organization in communications and conferences pertaining to broad aspects of engineering assignments
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program
- Master’s Degree
- 9 years prior experience
- Structural Engineer (SE) in California
- Engaged in life-long learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary structural issues
- Experience producing structural drawings with CAD software
- Experience leading technical structural discipline teams
- Professional Engineer (PE) in California
- Member of professional practice organization, national board member or officer, national technical or policy committee member
