Position Overview:
The Lead is a vital member of the RMG operations team, responsible for the safe and efficient movement of agricultural products within the facility. This role supports all departments in a fast-paced environment that demands a strong focus on safety, productivity, and operational excellence. The Lead must understand and apply best practices while effectively communicating operational progress to ensure successful loading of cargo, shuttle wagon operation, transload processes, and overall yard organization. By coordinating these functions, the Lead plays a key role in maintaining a smooth, efficient flow of products and supporting the success of the entire operation.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Perform all site operations safely and efficiently, following company standards and best practices.
2. Conduct daily pre-trip inspections on all equipment prior to operation.
3. When a Superintendent is not present, assist in directing yard and transload activities with support from other Superintendents and the General Manager.
4. Safely operate heavy equipment as needed, including Lift, Shuttle Wagon, Shag Truck, Payloader, and other machinery.
5. Help relay and achieve daily operational goals set by leadership.
6. Develop a thorough understanding of yard and transload layouts, including decking and hoop building strategies.
7. Immediately report any damage, accidents, or injuries to a Superintendent or Manager.
8. Train new employees joining the yard and transload operations teams.
9. Support other departments as necessary, including Office, Transload, and Maintenance.
Education and Experience Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in heavy equipment operations or agriculture
3. Strong organizational and time management skills
4. Effective communication abilities
5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, reporting systems, and terminal operating systems
6. Ability to occasionally lift over 50 lbs and push/pull up to 80 lbs
7. Ability to ascend and descend ladders
8. Comfortable working in all weather conditions
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
