Sales Associate (Liquor Store)

Job Summary

We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our liquor store team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers with their purchases
• Operate the cash register and process payments
• Stock shelves and keep displays organized
• Check customer IDs and follow all alcohol sales regulations
• Keep the store clean and well organized
• Recommend products and promote specials
• Help with inventory and restocking

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, honest, and punctual
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
• Previous retail or liquor store experience is a plus, but training will be provided

Pay

• Starting at $10.00 per hour
• Opportunity for pay increases based on performance and reliability

Schedule

• Part-time or Full-time
• Evening and weekend availability preferred

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
• Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system efficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Assist customers with product demos and recommendations to increase sales and customer satisfaction
• Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure products are well-stocked and organized
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store at all times
• Perform daily cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters, cleaning shelves, and taking out trash
• Handle cash, process payments accurately, and perform cash handling duties with integrity
• Conduct product knowledge sessions and upselling to maximize sales opportunities
• Manage inventory by stocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and assisting with inventory replenishment
• Follow proper phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
• Support supervisory staff by supervising team members during shifts when needed

Experience

• Prior retail sales experience in a grocery store or liquor store environment is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is key!
• Demonstrated proficiency with POS systems and cash handling procedures
• Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
• Experience in supervising or leading a team is advantageous but not mandatory; leadership qualities are valued
• Knowledge of retail math for accurate cash register operations and inventory management
• Familiarity with merchandising techniques and product demos to engage customers effectively
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced retail setting while maintaining excellent customer service standards
