We are seeking a dedicated and professional Dental Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, ensuring a positive first impression upon arrival.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
- Verify insurance coverage and benefits through systems like Epic, Meditech, or Athenahealth to facilitate accurate billing.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently while maintaining confidentiality of health information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Handle phone inquiries using multi-line phone systems with courteous and effective communication skills.
- Review and update patient medical records and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with billing procedures, including medical collection processes and coding tasks such as CPT, ICD-10, ICD-9, and dental terminology.
- Support clinic operations by maintaining organized filing systems, managing medical records, and performing clerical tasks such as data entry and typing.
- Coordinate with clinical staff for patient intake, care plans, and medical scheduling to optimize workflow.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and office policies while providing exemplary customer service.
Skills
- Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Dentrix is essential.
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (CPT, ICD-10/ICD-9), insurance verification, and health information management.
- Experience with dental terminology and clinic operations within a dental or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with office management software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Exceptional phone etiquette coupled with strong organizational skills for scheduling and administrative support.
- Ability to review documentation accurately while adhering to HIPAA standards for patient privacy.
- Bilingual abilities are considered an asset to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Prior experience in a medical or dental office environment demonstrating clerical expertise is preferred.
