Position Summary:
The Central Falls School District seeks to hire a Spanish-English bilingual and biliterate dual language teacher to join our dual language team. Our mission is to support students to meet the goals of:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES /DUTIES
Facilitate teaching and learning in a 50/50 dual language instructional model in which students learn in English and Spanish in all major academic content areas. Preferred: a track record of implementing standards, assessment, curriculum, and instruction aligned with dual language theories and pedagogy.
Demonstrate cultural competency with students, families, and colleagues. Have a proven track record of using classroom-based culturally sustaining practices to empower students.
Demonstrate relentless optimism about students’ abilities to excel. Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment that empowers students to become self-motivated, responsible, and resilient learners. Have a proven track record of consistently demonstrating the belief that all individuals (including yourself) are capable of high levels of learning and growth.
Commit to working intensively and proactively with team members and participating in a highly collaborative teaching and learning environment with an unequivocal focus on equity, excellence, and empowerment of students.
Have a proven track record of learning from reflection and responsiveness to feedback from students, families, peers, and supervisors. Evidence of resilience and ability to grow from failure and mistakes.
Align instruction with the Common Core State Standards and WIDA Frameworks, and create meaningful opportunities for multilingual learners to access content and language learning. Use a variety of data to drive instruction.
Utilize challenging instructional materials/district curriculum with fidelity.
Participate in MTSS for dual language to provide evidence-based classroom intervention for struggling learners. Have a proven track record of strong knowledge of the distinction between language development needs and learning disabilities.
Develop and implement classroom and curricular accommodations and modifications for students, including language development adaptations and adaptations for students with learning challenges. Demonstrate the belief that all students are capable of thriving in a dual language setting.
Assess progress, maintain documentation, monitor student learning/progress and report as specified by the school principal and the district.
Communicate regularly with families to facilitate two-way discussions about student performance, attendance, and progress. Have a proven track record of positive and empowering interactions with families to support student learning.
